A 1935 farm town tucked into the Chugach Mountain Range, 45 minutes from Anchorage. Walkable streets, working farms, glacial rivers, and peaks on every horizon. Home to the Alaska State Fair, Palmer is your gateway to South Central Alaska. Wilderness starts at the edge of town.

Before Palmer had a paved road, it had the Hyland. Originally the Hotel Palmer, then the Everglenn, this building has watched the valley grow from a New Deal farm colony into Alaska's most beautiful basecamp.
We kept the bones and the names of the families who built this town live on above each door, from the Palmer Suite to the Snodgrass at the top of the stairs. Then we added what modern travelers actually want: pillow-top beds, fast Wi-Fi, blackout curtains for those long summer nights, and showers with real water pressure. A historic inn with a modern touch.
